presidents

The famous and infamous presidents of the United States of America all had great attributes and worked hard to reach their goals. For that reason I decided to share with you some of my favorite quotes from random Presidents. My personal comments are in Italic.

“And so my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1961–1963)
Famous Quote by Kennedy, Makes sense but does our governments make us feel like to help them at this time?

“What kind of nation we will be, what kind of world we will live in, whether we shape the future in the image of our hopes, is ours to determine by our actions and our choices.” Richard Milhouse Nixon (1969–1974)
Nixon was a dreamer, I believe in what he said, we can shape our world the way we want. It’s shame so far we are doing a pretty bad job at it.

“If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit.” William Jefferson Clinton (1993–2001)
Never quit, Never quit… Do I need to say more ?

“A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.” Gerald Rudolph Ford (1974–1977)
Scary but makes a lot of sense.

“Always give your best, never get discouraged, never be petty; always remember, others may hate you. Those who hate you don’t win unless you hate them. And then you destroy yourself.” Richard Milhouse Nixon (1969–1974)
This follows Bill Clinton’s quote to never quit! Adversity is normal, so keep fighting for what you want.

“The only man who makes no mistake is the man who does nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt (1901–1909)
Needless to say more, trying and failing is far better than not trying at all

“Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933–1945)

“You cannot stop the spread of an idea by passing a law against it.” Harry S. Truman (1945–1953)
This shows you how powerful an idea can be.

“We . . . declared our independence 200 years ago, and we are not about to lose it now to paper shufflers and computers.” Gerald Rudolph Ford (1974–1977)
Ironic quote, I think it’s about to or already happened.

  1. The first Ford quote about government being big enough to take everything away is actually by Thomas Jefferson.
