seminar

How many of you would attend a motivational seminar? I’m asking because I know quite a few people that are either intimidated by the idea or a little embarrassed. As a matter of fact, I have friends that are afraid to purchase a self help book, in fear of what others may think! There is absolutely no shame whatsoever in trying to improve yourself, and although self improvement is a very personal matter, here are some reasons why you should go out of your way to attend a motivational seminar:

Energy & atmosphere
The energy confined within a seminar is extraordinary. You will not find another place like it. It is quite an experience, which rivals concerts and religious gatherings in terms of excitement and enthusiasm from both the presenter and the audience. This positive energy is very addictive and you will find yourself having a very good time. Although the topics and stories may sometimes be of a serious nature, the atmosphere is never one of sadness or sorrow. It is about re-inventing yourself and making your life better. Put together hundreds or thousands of same-minded people and what you get is magic. The mere buzz that flows through the event will have you wanting more.

Networking
These seminars are some of the best places to make contacts with like-minded people, which can develop into fruitful business relationships or long lasting friendships. You will be surprised that the vast majority of people attending these seminars are quite affluent and highly successful individuals. If you run your own business, this is a wonderful place to network and get the word out about your company, as well as learn about others in your region that you may not have been aware of. Everyone that attends seminars usually leave with a few new friends, and having friends and/or contacts that are on the same wavelength as you are is extremely important to help you succeed.

New insights
What’s great about seminars is that the presenter can go into greater details about the book or audio course that made you want to attend the seminar in the first place. Therefore, you are likely to get much more information and insights into what helped them create their specific content. It also helps to humanize the author and when you see that the life-changing knowledge that you read or listened to was created by a human being not that much different from you, it will show you that you are just as capable to create wonderful things in your life as well. Also, these seminars usually include guest speakers and a few extra presenters, so you are very likely to learn about some new authors or some new courses that you were not aware of previously. You definitely leave a motivational seminar with a ton of new knowledge.

Inspiring stories

One of my favorite aspects of motivational seminars is that it is very interactive with the audience. People are encouraged to ask questions and share their stories. It’s one thing to hear about the presenters and their stories about turning their lives around, but when you hear it from someone sitting next to you, to me that is even more powerful. It makes everything real and possible for you, in that if these people next to you are capable of it, then nothing is stopping you from doing the same. As well, this is a platform for you to share your inspiring story too! You may find sharing your story very rewarding and very therapeutic. This is what’s great about these events…everyone is there to help each other, including within the audience itself.

Your dedication to the cause

Attending a motivational seminar requires quite an investment from you. It can be quite expensive in terms of money, and it can be time consuming as well. Most seminars are many hours long and some stretch out over 2-3 days. Also, you need to attend with your utmost focus & concentration, along with an open mind so that you can absorb the information & experience properly. Needless to say, you can clearly see that it requires a vast dedication on your part to effectively attend such an event. This is why most people do not, because most people give up or don’t want to put in the effort. However, attending a motivational seminar will help proclaim how serious and dedicated you are to turning your life around and improving it. This is why so many people go back home completely different individuals. When you combine such dedication with insightful knowledge, the result can truly be life-changing.

Boost your motivation momentum
We may have read the book and listened to the course, but after a while, the information fades away. As you go through your daily life, you will probably only remember at most 10-15% of that book’s information. After all, the act of reading a book isn’t memorable. However, attending a motivational seminar is absolutely a memorable event to take part of. This is why you are much more likely to remember knowledge from such an event, compared to having just read the book. Plus, it’s a wonderful way to skyrocket your motivation into the stratosphere, where if you are smart about it, you can ride that momentum all the way to accomplishing all the goals you ever dreamed of 😉

  1. I agree that you should go to seminar more rather than reading a book. I am not saying do not read books on motivation, its that you will not be able to max out the learning experience.

It has been tested and proven, that a average man will not be able to remember what he has learn by just reading. It has reported that a average man will retain less than 10% of what he learn from reading.

So what is the best way to max out the learning experience, is to execute the learned knowledge. Of course this is one of the least that a average man will do.

So the next option will be attending seminar. The man has now open his sight, hear and feel senses, which has increase his learning experience. Of course the speaker will play a major play in opening up these three senses to the man’s learning experience, by giving questions, asking him to share, play games, etc.

    This is called accelerated learning.

  3. Fully agree with you. One additional point is that it increases you term-vocab. A lot of times we know some concepts which don’t have names. A lot of motivational seminaars, give names to these concepts which make communication easier.
