peace of mind

Peace of mind is a goal that everyone wants to achieve but very few people know how to even get close to it. There are so many stresses in this world that it is hard to imagine living your life without feeling tense all of the time. Inner peace is easy to achieve if you take it little by little and make small changes to the way to navigate your day.

• Stop and think of three things that you have in your life right now that you are thankful for. Think of three blessings or three things that make you happy that you have in your life right now. You can do this anytime you are feeling stressed out or like you are being short changed by life.

• Do not waste your time worrying about what other people think. Being self conscious is a waste of energy. If you like to dance, then dance. Having fun can be very liberating.

• Let go of things that you have no control over. The rain does not care if you are mad that it ruined your barbeque. There are some things in life that you can never change and it will do your mental state some good to let them go.

• When things are tough you should walk to a window and take one long, deep breath. When you do this you should focus on nothing but your breath. This sounds very simple but it is very effective. If you do not have a window then just take a deep breath and focus on the way your breath feels on your upper lip as you exhale.

• Get the task that you want to do the least done first thing in the morning. This will be a huge stress relief. You can then focus on more pleasant things for the rest of the day.

  2. I especially like how you brought up that the rain doesn’t care if it ruins your garbage, it’s going to rain anyway. Letting go of things that are out of your control is definitely something that can give you huge leaps forward in establishing inner piece and a sense of freedom.

I also like the tip about getting the more dreadful tasks accomplished at the beginning of the day… it can be very difficult, but it definitely works great.

Very short, but informative article! I liked it very much and I even stumbled it 🙂

  6. Everyone should try and find a time to set down goals on how to achieve inner peace and contentment. In this fast-paced three or more jobs a week and that’s for the average
American to even think about diconnecting from the Dragon is too hard to even envision. And yet there is a way to the path of glory: sit down and write a little brief note to yourself and ask yourself three questions: Can I take a little time off from work?
    2. Do I have enough money to take a mini-vacation?
    3. Where will I go to get away?

When you come up with the answers, the next step is to ask your employer for a three-day holiday or a week off.

It’s more simple if you are self-employed. Just don’t say no to yourself.
Down play everyone elses’ needs but your own and don;t let yourself feel guilty about it.

Your third step is after you find out you can take off from work, and you have enough money without breaking the bank or piggy-bank, then ask yourself, where can I go on the limited funds allowable and find out what you like, and make a date to go to a close-by state and check it out.

Believe me you’ll never regret it. That is exactly the advice I have given myself and am taking myself up on it tonight.

Next time, feng shi the vacation spot way!

  8. Nice list, immediate and doable. I would add find your Mission or refine it. Being on Mission or working towards it will dramatically improve the quality of your life.
